1. birds:
   Yeah, birds. Which play a central role in the new Neil Gaiman novel. Which I am reading. Also, I like the giant fucking crows that are the size of small dogs. They walk around like they own the UK, which they do.
2. creative writing:
   Today I submitted some poems to a magazine. If they get in, I get paid.
3. extra sharp cheddar cheese:
   Cheese here is maybe the only foodstuff that's a definite improvement on home. Cheese comes here from Wales and Caledonia, all on a train, enjoying life and crumbling. You can tell a good cheddar by its flake.
4. history:
   I do like history. History is pretty great stuff. Thank you, Jessica Young; I remember more of it than anyone I know.
5. judy budnitz:
   She's spec! She's pretty great. You should read her books. She's also pretty and would be good in a threesome.
6. orlando:
   Well, it should be capitalized. But I maintain it's the finest film ever made. Also, watching it just makes me happy. I think I'm going to invest in the 3 x 5 ft poster I found on the internet. Tilda days and Tilda nights.
7. russian food:
   I haven't had any of this in a long time. It's kind of hard going to Russian Tea Time these days. And as far as I can Scotland isn't really a Soviet export center. Well, the grocery stores kind of feel like the gulag.
8. swan lake:
   This guy Matthew Bourne totally restaged Swan Lake to be a homoerotic love story, and it's all men in feather tutus, and it completely seems like the hottest thing in the universe.
9. the new yorker:
   I still love it. Can't get it here, though.
10. writing:
    It helps me express myself blah blah blah.
